This is a comprehensive textbook detailing most areas of cosmetic surgery as well as a vast array of non-surgical treatments. This is an ideal book for senior trainees, fellows and junior consultants starting out in the field of cosmetic surgery.

The extensive book is accompanied by instructional videos and is authored and edited by world leaders in the field of cosmetic surgery. The book consists of over 90 chapters, and although it is slightly more heavily weighted to cosmetic surgery in the head and neck area, it still delivers a comprehensive review of all aspects of cosmetic surgery on the breast trunk and body as well as numerous non-surgical treatments available.

The first four chapters focus on the consultation and discuss how to optimise results. Keeping up with modern medicine the book also devotes two chapters to discussing the influence of social media and how best to manage a social media presence for your practice. The book moves onto the head and neck area with 14 comprehensive chapters discussing different aspects of primary and secondary rhinoplasty with helpful accompanying videos demonstrating these techniques.

What I particularly like about this book is that, as well as being very thorough in the chapters on cosmetic surgery, it is equally as thorough on a vast array of non-surgical treatments. It provides in-depth discussion on fillers, neurotoxins, dermabrasion, chemical peels and laser resurfacing.

I was really impressed with this book; despite covering a vast area of treatments and surgical procedures, all chapters were well written, succinct, and included helpful step by step guides on performing these procedures as well pre and postoperative photos and illustrative figures demonstrating aspects of the techniques described. A very helpful aid to any new consultant embarking in the field of cosmetic surgery.
