As part of the Current Problems in Dermatology series this volume provides an excellent grounding in both the history and principles of laser development and laser physics. Subsequent sections on laser / tissue correction and laser safety are followed by an excellent overview of the main areas of laser use within the skin.

There are also sections on non laser light base therapies including photodynamic therapy (PDT), light-emitting diode (LED) and intense pulsed light (IPL). Whilst the text may have benefitted from additional colour images, the quality of the written text makes this volume an excellent read for both the novice and experienced laser practitioners.
