This project has resulted from a series of discussions with major aesthetic practitioners in the UK, dentists, product suppliers and leading figure heads in the industry. The Feasibility Study and Action Programme to deliver the new association will be led by Paul Burgess MBE, assisted by Danny Large and the newly established Project Management Group, with the additional support provided by Church Pharmacy. Professor Lee Walker will Co-Chair the PMG assisted by Dr Raquel Amado, both of whom are eminent dentists who specialise in non-surgical aesthetic treatments. Danny Large from DSL Consulting Ltd is part of the management team providing strategic advice on event management, training and networking.

Between 2014–2024, Paul was the CEO of the UK’s most successful professional association in aesthetics for nurses, the British Association of Cosmetic Nurses now known as BAMAN. Over the last 10 years, Paul, working with its Board and staff team, led its growth and development. Paul will work with the PMG to establish the feasibility of this exciting project, build a development plan and launch the new association.

Professor Walker said: "There is a major gap in the world of aesthetics with reference to a major professional association acting specifically for dentists to look after their interests, education, training and CPD in the UK and globally. I have been aware of this gap in the UK and in my extensive world travels as a key opinion leader and educator. Many dental aesthetic colleagues have expressed the same view and Dr Raquel Amado has also confirmed that there is huge potential demand for such an association globally.

"I am delighted to announce that a project management group has been established to oversee this project, sponsorship has been obtained, and we have recruited experts of the highest quality and experience to drive this project forward. The initial focus of the project will be the UK but with the capacity to look at international expansion in Phase 3. If there are practitioners or stakeholders who would be interested in supporting this project and / or joining our PMG, please come forward."

Church Pharmacy Director and owner, Zain Bhojani, will sponsor the development phase of this project. Zain Bhojani said: "In our role as a pharmacy and distributor that supplies a significant number of dentists working in aesthetics, we believe that there is a growing need for a professional association in this sector. I am delighted to work with Professor Lee Walker and his PMG on this project.

"I am also very happy that the development work will be undertaken by Paul Burgess MBE and Danny Large, both of whom I have worked with for many years. My own research has identified a gap in this area with many dentists looking for support as they grow their non-surgical aesthetic knowledge and skills alongside the core services they provide."

This project will commence in September 2025 with the development phase lasting around three to four months, followed by a launch and implementation programme.

  • The PMG led by Professor Lee Walker will be contacting potential sponsors for Phase 3 of the project and if you are interested to be involved, please contact him on: Leewalker68@hotmail.co.uk
  • Paul Burgess MBE will be approaching many of the stakeholders and interested partners as part of the development phase and can be contacted on: paul@pbabusconsult.co.uk

Paul Burgess MBE said: "After an amazing experience developing BAMAN as a professional association with many esteemed nurses, I am delighted to lead this exciting new project. The role of professional associations in aesthetics is critical as so many new practices emerge, the need for specific education, training and CPD grows and the ever-changing rules around regulation are announced. I hope to bring my experience in these areas to this major project."
