Co-editor of The PMFA Journal, Dalvi Humzah, has been nominated to join the BMA Private Practice Committee.

Dalvi said: "I spent 10 years as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon in the NHS with a private practice, currently, I have been in full-time private practice for 11 years.

During this time there have been many changes in the way that private practice is conducted some have raised the standards that we offer to our patients, others are making private practice restrictive and bureaucratic.

The recent pandemic has revealed how tenuous private practice can be when large organisations put pressure to halt private practice.

I would represent you the private practitioners who have been left with very little support from private institutions."

The BMA Private Practice Committee voting takes place 11-25 August 2020.
