The Octane Aesthetics Tech Forum, held in Newport Beach, California, was a showcase of innovation and trends shaping the medical aesthetics market. Over two days, leaders in aesthetics, technology and business convened to exchange knowledge, unveil insights and spark discussions about the industry’s future.
The event kicked off with an insightful keynote by Bob Rhatigan, Chief Executive Officer of Merz Aesthetics, followed by sessions covering pivotal topics including longevity in aesthetics, regenerative medicine and advancements in laser and energy-based devices. I had the privilege of presenting a session on ‘Medical Aesthetics Industry Trends’, where I discussed the state of the market, highlighting the growing influence of Gen Z consumers, opportunities in professional-grade skincare and the expansion of exosomal therapies. One insight that the audience found compelling was how the integration of glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) medications is reshaping the aesthetics market, fueling significant growth for practices across the United States.
This topic was further explored in a standout session on ‘Weight Loss in Aesthetic Medicine’, featuring Dr Johnny Franco of Austin Plastic Surgeon, Dr Daniel Gould of Dr Gould Plastic Surgery, and Wendy Lewis, Founder and President of Wendy Lewis & Co. Ltd. This panel, moderated by Brock Walter, Associate Vice President, Strategy and External Innovation of Allergan Aesthetics, explored the future of weight-loss medications, and how they will continue to transform medical aesthetics. They explored how practices are adapting to the rising demand for weight management solutions, seamlessly combining physical transformation with a focus on overall health and wellness.
This year’s forum showcased the rapid evolution taking place in the medical aesthetics industry, driven by groundbreaking innovations and technological advancements. If you missed it, be sure to attend the next Octane Aesthetics Tech Forum.
