Leading dermatologists, cosmetic surgeons, doctors and nurse practitioners have combined their expertise to develop what are believed to be a world-first in dermatological care – comprehensive protocols for acne treatment using latest advances in LED Phototherapy.

Based on the Pillsbury Grade, the protocols prescribe the correct light wavelength, number and length of LED phototherapy sessions, depending on the acne severity:

Mild to Moderate (Pillsbury Grade 1-2) and/or non-inflammatory lesions, mild inflammatory papules with comedones, localised breakouts with mild redness or irritation: Six, 10-minute sessions over three weeks using optimal dosing of Blue, Red light at medium setting and NIR light.

Moderate to Severe (Pillsbury Grade 3-4) and/or widespread inflammatory lesions, larger papules with high risk of scarring, deep nodules or cysts and a high degree of redness and swelling:10 sessions totalling 20 minutes over five weeks using high intensity Blue and NIR light.

Dr Hextall advised that the Dermalux Tri-Wave MD has already significantly reduced her prescriptions for antibiotics - 92% of her recent acne patients were treated using only LED phototherapy and topicals.

Dermalux Tri-Wave MD is a medical device, CE Class IIa-certified, FDA Class II-cleared, developed within an ISO 13485 QMS. Rigorous testing ensures compliance with EN 60601 standards for patient safety.
