PREVIEW

On 30 and 31 October 2024, The Scar Free Foundation is hosting an international symposium at The Royal Society in London to tackle one of the biggest challenges facing surgery today – scar free healing.

Scarring is common, costly, and can change your life forever. But despite the scale of the problem, and the profound impact it can have on people’s lives, the thorny problem of scarring has been critically under-researched.

For now, scars are unavoidable and permanent. But they don’t have to be. At The Scar Free Foundation, we believe that we can unlock the secrets of scarring through research.

The Scar Free Foundation Symposium will accelerate research efforts by bringing the brightest minds in wound healing together. For two days, 100 scientists and clinicians at the forefront of wound healing and scarring research will convene to debate this critical global challenge.

Panels will include talks on genetics and population health, scar therapeutics, conflict wounds, and fibrosis from leading researchers such as Professor Geoffrey Gurtner, Professor Paul Riley, and Professor Stuart Cook.
