The Aesthetic Innovation and Medicine Excellence (AIME) conference for 2025 was held over two glorious days in June at the Palais des Congres in Paris; a beautiful city often associated with the word 'chic'. Chic epitomises the AI-enhanced or generated face of AIME 2025.
The venue was excellent with a large central hall and two satellite halls that allowed a rich and diverse programme with something for everyone. There was also a large exhibition space that enhanced the networking between commercial sponsors and delegates.
The opening session in the main hall was an overview of toxins, fillers and threads. It was a standing room only experience that set the tone of the meeting. Elsewhere satellite sessions were looking at both male and female 'intimate' interventions regarding urogenital problems with ageing. Sessions on how to set up an aesthetic practice were extremely useful, as were the sessions on the prevention and treatment of complications. A sponsored session on exosomes was particularly well attended as these were “all the rage in Monaco last year”. However, the hype seems to be on hold and the conclusion from the presentations was basically that a thin smear of 2% hydrocortisone might be just as effective; however, keep an open mind.
Altogether, this was an excellent conference. One final point regarded one of the exhibitors, Medassure. This is a company that provides a tailored insurance policy for patients to cover the costs of any complications that might arise following a cosmetic intervention. Currently they are only providing this service for EU countries, but I hope that changes. This is an excellent idea and something the UK should consider.
